We built a free AEO tool because people asked
We’ve had people ask us how to tell whether their website is ready for AI search and what they should do about it.

I wanted to give them something useful they could try.
So we built CoMavenAI AEO. It’s free, and it’s live now on our website and in ChatGPT.
AEO stands for answer engine optimization. It’s about making the information on your website easier for AI systems to find, understand, and reference when answering someone’s question.
If you’ve been hearing about it and wondering where to start, this tool gives you a way to look at your own site and see what might need attention.
Why we’re making it free
There are companies charging for tools and services in this space. Different businesses will need different levels of support, and there’s room for that.
For us, the reason to build this was straightforward. People were asking about it, and we could offer something helpful.
I wanted someone to be able to use it, get a better understanding of their website, and decide what to do next. You don’t need to book a call with us to get started. The website audit doesn’t require an account or an email address.
We’re sharing it because we think it’s useful. If it helps you find a few things worth improving, it’s doing its job.
What it does
The website tool reviews up to 10 public pages and gives you prioritized findings with supporting evidence. It also explains what was inspected and the limits of the report.
That gives you something concrete to review with whoever manages your website. You can look at the finding, check the evidence, and decide whether the suggested improvement makes sense.
We also built an MCP plugin for ChatGPT, so you can work through the findings in a conversation. You can revisit a saved audit, explore a recommendation, and generate a proposed plan for a change. After you review and make the change, you can request a recheck.
The tool helps you work through those steps. You remain in control of what gets changed on your website.
A useful distinction
Website readiness and actual visibility in AI answers are two different questions.
A readiness audit examines your website. A separate visibility check looks at whether sampled AI answers mention or cite your business for questions relevant to your audience. You can request those checks through the ChatGPT plugin.
A readiness score doesn’t guarantee that your business will appear in an AI answer. I want people to understand what the tool measures and have enough information to judge the findings for themselves.
Give it a try
Run the free audit on our website, or use CoMavenAI AEO in ChatGPT.
Start with your site and one finding. Look at the evidence and decide whether addressing it would help someone understand your business better.
If you have questions about the tool, your results, or where to start, feel free to reach out. I’d also like to hear what would make it more useful.
